For the mind to function differently&#8230;. we must learn a different way of being. DTS xxxi<\/p>\n<p>Since imagination is a form of inquiry I have been playing with &#8221; what would it feel like to\u00c2\u00a0be an open, allowing interactive presence&#8221;? I am breaking apart this\u00c2\u00a0inquiry and investigating its aspects.\u00c2\u00a0I sit with &#8220;open&#8221; on the in breath &#8220;and allow&#8221; on the out breath until a more open and allowing state is evoked. With practice this more open state becomes\u00c2\u00a0linked\u00c2\u00a0to a focus on the inhale and exhale\u00c2\u00a0of breath and is available\u00c2\u00a0as I go through the day. This is helpful\u00c2\u00a0when reactivity is noted and\u00c2\u00a0signals that\u00c2\u00a0an afflictive\u00c2\u00a0way of knowing is in play. \u00c2\u00a0&#8220;Open and allow&#8221; relaxes reactive\u00c2\u00a0states as they arise.<\/p>\n<p>These open and allowing aspects of space need not be confused with passivity for they seem to be a\u00c2\u00a0connective portal through which interactivity naturally flows.\u00c2\u00a0To date this way of being appears as a connective ease, comfort and contact.<\/p>\n<p>Hayward<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The mind is not a tool that can operate independent of who we are.
