The zen saying is that \u00e2\u20ac\u0153in the beginners mind there are many possibilities. In the expert\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s mind there are few.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d If I set out to experience time it seems to me that expressions as \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcbeginners mind\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 or \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcstepping into the present moment\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 describe much more the kind of experience we are talking about. Very much like the Kum Nye instructions: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153relax the sense of the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I\u00e2\u20ac\u009d doing Kum Nye and let Kum Nye do itself.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d This \u00e2\u20ac\u0153doing itself\u00e2\u20ac\u009d feeling seems to relate to the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153experience\u00e2\u20ac\u009d of time. The \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcsubject\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 is there but it is not \u00e2\u20ac\u0153controlling\u00e2\u20ac\u009d, is just present and open and curious and sensing and surprised by each moment. If I lift my arm controling the movement there is a sense of an \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I\u00e2\u20ac\u009d doing an \u00e2\u20ac\u0153exercise\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. But if an arm just floats by itself and there is awareness and stilness and a sense of surprise and \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcnot knowing what comes next\u00e2\u20ac\u2122\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 there is not a sense of an \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I\u00e2\u20ac\u009d any more, and there is not an \u00e2\u20ac\u0153event\u00e2\u20ac\u009d happening to me. You say that the subject only finds its home in linear time. Is it appropriate to say that the subject is the one who controls in the example given by me? It creates linear time out of a need to \u00e2\u20ac\u02dccontrol\u00e2\u20ac\u2122?<\/p>\n
