It is useful to consider thought as “content” and the other layers as “context”. Therefore the content of mind occurs in and is contoured (allowed and enabled) by the the context in which they occur. Prevailing bodily, affective and emotional experiences influence the content of thought.<\/p>\n
However there seems to be a feedback loop in which the content of thought influences or perpetuates the affective-emotional ground out of which they are arising. In this manner familiar patterns of thoughts continue creating an enduring recognizable experience of “me”<\/p>\n
Further investigation reveals that a primary and foundational “background” ( level 4) is the assumption of a “me here” separate from the “world there”. The consequences of this background assumption are worthy of consideration.<\/p>\n
