AUBADE 3<\/strong>

Finally there is
\n No rest at all
\n Within the roaring dawn,<\/p>\n

How could there ever be
\nA scowling doze to match
\nThe breaking joy<\/p>\n

That bird cry rings out to this whole blue planet.
\nSo that pink sand is silvered
\n By bubbling frothy heaps
\n Of wave crash and wave flow
\n Into spreads of sheeting water,
\n And the darkening floor goes all dimply
\n With fleeing holy crabs,
\n And the gulls snap and soar away,<\/p>\n

Their far below the near of weedy buzzing rocks
\n That mark the day,
\n All peaked and lumped with centuries of lift,
\n And naked as true angels are with
\n The blown cupped nurseries of budding kelp,
\n The floats that hie the dripping fronds
\n That soon will dip and rise with the coming tide,<\/p>\n

This is not paradise,
\nThere is no laddered path to climb,
\nNo deprivation starved to crack the mind,<\/p>\n

This the plane sought,
\nThe singular stand,
\nAnd the child knows
\nAs his eyes fill,
\nThere never will be loss to match this day,
\nOnly the grainy rattling on
