Re-reading \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcRevelations of Mind<\/em>\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, by Tarthang Tulku Rinpoche, and once again looking into the feel of presence, and degrees of experiencing it. For me, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s often seeing \u00e2\u20ac\u02dchow\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 things are coming to my attention, not just the reasoning of cause and effect, (this happened because of that), but rather, FEELING the arising of whatever is happening. For instance a string of thoughts arise from somewhere, eventually dissipate and vanish somewhere\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 or when writing this, what to say now is arising from, as Rinpoche suggests, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Beneath the surface interactions of entities situated in a presupposed field, prior to the pre-established knowings\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/em>\u00e2\u20ac\u009d DTS p64<\/p>\n

I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m watching \u00e2\u20ac\u02dchow<\/em>\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 I gain access to that\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 at a certain level it seems to be a dark horizon for which my discursive mind, my world of language and stories has difficulty navigating. I can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t seem to describe it to myself, can’t get a handle on what I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m attempting to discriminate\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 like a baby in a crib fascinated by movement, and reaching for a spinning structure beyond its grasp. Time often feels like that, it cascades <\/em>in a series of discrete events of perception, each of which successively overflows to the next\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 and sometimes suddenly stops, or seems to suspend\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 revealing what? The space \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcnot-known<\/em>\u00e2\u20ac\u2122? In \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcRevelations of Mind<\/em>\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, Rinpoche suggests:<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6mind is far more than brain sealed inside a bony case\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6involved inwardly in our physical being; it also reflects outwardly, into the environing world and the universe beyond. Through mind inner and outer are closely related; they interact to reflect our manifestations<\/strong> and to support our well-being.<\/p>\n

When we explore the interactions of mind, body, and universe, an understanding arises that is not merely intellectual, mind and time are transformed, and past, present, and future are all there together. p.210<\/strong><\/p>\n

Measured out time<\/strong> refers to our understanding of past, present, and future\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6a fabrication of mind, created to provide a context<\/strong> for reifying our experience. Taking our experience as a baseline, mind may have marked it up in ways that our senses find \u00e2\u20ac\u0153reasonable\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00e2\u20ac\u00a6But everything stands on how we view the present<\/strong>\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6if we cannot stand on the present, we cannot trust that anything we know is real. We need to go further and question what this \u00e2\u20ac\u02dctrue present\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 might be.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n
