My notes here overlap considerably with what I had to say there.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p align=\"right\" class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: 0.5in; text-align: center\">The first lines of the DTS reading for this week offer a good summary of where we went in the first program:<\/p>\n<p align=\"right\" class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: 0.5in; text-align: center\">\n<p align=\"right\" class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: 0.5in; text-align: center; font-style: italic\">\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Space and the freedom it offers are at the center of present experience, just as it is.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p align=\"right\" class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: 0.5in; text-align: center\">\n<div align=\"left\" \/>\n<p align=\"left\" class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: 1.4134in\">Usually we focus on identity. We label things, and by doing so we lose the freedom that space offers. But we can recover that freedom, not by going somewhere else, but right here, within experience.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\" class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: 1.4134in\">\n<p align=\"left\" class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: 1.4134in\">So is this a conceptual shift, a new way of thinking about things? Perhaps to start, but more fundamentally, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s an experiential shift. In the last program we tried to engage this experiential level very directly by looking at the part of our experience that was non-content, the part where experience is looser, more open (but also the part where the patterns of identification get set up.) We practiced with ordinary experience in a non-ordinary way. And that is precisely what TSK is about.<\/p>\n<div align=\"left\" \/>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">A little further down in the same paragraph, the text says: <span style=\"font-style: italic\">\u00e2\u20ac\u0153To recover space \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcpresence\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, we must clarify the operation of the thinking mind . . .\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: 0.5in\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">That is basically where we start this program.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><u>Style of Investigation<\/u> (LOK reading)<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The reading from LOK starts by speaking of \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcfreedom of thought\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, which of course reminds us of &#8216;space freedom&#8217;.\u00c2\u00a0 One special quality of TSK: that it acknowledges the power of thinking and makes use of it in a very powerful way. We <em>activate<\/em> freedom through our inquiry, our questions.
