Were a salty old sailor to stand alone on a cliff at the edge of the sea\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 he would see water near and far, a windy sweep to the horizon where sea kisses endless sky\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 there, at end of sight, is where mind\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s eye might turn to an endless sea within\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 what then? The sea where dreams are birthed, where the essence of portrayal and specification pose, where delineation and yarns are spun\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 before a flower can ever bloom, there were currents of pollen swirling and waving\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6heaving and swelling\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 the preverbal swims, floats, bobs, drifts and lifts\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6<\/p>\n

SEA CRUISE

Glimmering in the early waters always,
\nLasting darkness gives way to steady light,
\nOne would think the distant moon,<\/p>\n

Shining and present,
\nWould be here,
\nBut this is down much deeper, so far within,<\/p>\n

I find myself dulled, lost, half
\nExpecting strangely lanterned creatures
\n Will soon float by looking for a waltz,
\n It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s that odd,
\n That much of a smile,<\/p>\n

I hear the ringing bell of a timeless realm,
\nI find myself before a spiraling creature spun by light,
\nIt\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s spindly legs are quite withdrawn,<\/p>\n

It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a continual accretion,
\nIt casts the living ages in the stillness of a growing form,
\nI think of it as a gradually opening eye,<\/p>\n

I do not think that it will ever blink,
\nIt is the fullness of a completely open sky,
\nIt is a wave shorn speck, a dot of sand,
\nA jewel, a particulate, our lives awash with light,<\/p>\n

I have seen great fish
\n Swimming easily through a silence
\nThat I will never know,<\/p>\n

Here in these waters, far from the tide spread sand,
\nSpindly legs channel me towards their eyes,
\nAnd my own are realized,
