Yes, finally found this section on the Internet to write a post and maybe contribute to this course.  Last week an awareness arose of when the more dens part of the self is at work and when there is a much lighter quality to experience. When at work it seems possible to be in two operative modes, one is to be the professional PT asking specific questions, searching for a cause of the complaint presented according to the rules of the profession. The self seems to work as a conditioned professional. The other way is to be open in contact with the patients, to start listening  with the heart instead of the head, just encouraging the patient to reveal more of their story physically but also emotionally and circumstantial, registering the necessary items along the way .  One way or another this feels very different to me and to the patient. For me there is a deep awareness of the worries, concerns and the mindset which has let to the complaint at that specific moment in the patients life almost touchable, the patients seem to open up and a lightness sets in that  soothes what they came for in itself even without much treatment. The story told seems to soften just because it had been heard. I feel that when this quality is in operation a sort of spiritual mind is in operation that has different qualities. It is very sensitive to the slightest change of tone or breath or energy and reacts to that.  The striking thing is that it does not take more time to be in this lighter mode and it is much more fulfilling, it is like operating from an other dimension bringing it to work in this one. The only thing to do is to not be in the self.  Until now these two mindsets  just happened to me depending on the circumstances. But during the last two week it seems to settle  more deeply to be in the lighter more open listening through the heart mindset.  Could it be that what we call the self in this course can be called a 3rd dimensional self operating directly for and through our physical existence and this lighter opener aspect of our being operating from and through the heart to be called our spiritual self. Is this quality more linked with that part of our being that operates beyond our 3d projection in this shadow land between illusion and reality, or is it just the difference of being open or closed in our contact with others or somewhere in between. It just feels so much lighter, fulfilling  and different.

I found your comments about the state of mind and heart you access during psychotherapy very similar to my own experience.
In fact if a patient hands me something to read during a session, I can not process it. It is as if my focus is too wide and soft to make sense of written words.

Hi Thieb and Karen,
I appreciate both your descriptions of how a freer more open quality not only makes us feel more alive personally, but seems to allow others to be their own deeper “selves” in our presence. Perhaps, as well as feelings of joy and openness in our own experience, another sign that we are heading in a healthy direction is how others behave with us. If they are spontaneous, uninhibited, openly sharing what they care about, I think that is a sure sign that we are in touch with a reality beyond our own limited, self-protecting “self”. It’s great to hear your field communiques from this fabled land! — Michael
Hi Karen,
Thanks for your comment. By reading it the thought came up that maybe this joy is the key experience in learning the difference between Self and this different quality of being that could master the Self. Afterall I do feel we need the self as a vehicle for expression and communication in every day life, but it often takes controle and than we get cought by our desires, fears and loose perspective to what we are realy capable of. To me communicating about this subject is impossible without the self. But could the question be; Is the self is master or the servant in our experience? Can we diffferentiale who is in controle by registering this quality of Joy and openness?
Hi ?
I appreciate very much your description of the lightness in your contact with other people. I cannot anwer to your questions but I experience a similar lightness in the contact with my pupils. During the last weeks I felt astonished about the openness of the children. I did not encourage them by questioning but may be by more listening with the heart and by a different kind of awareness connected with a deep joy.
