Trust . . . and faith

Lesley comments about her inquiry into “trust” using the search mechanism on the CD. Let me underline that point: being able to search on specific terms (including one term near another) is a wonderful tool for inquiry.

This made me curious about the related word “faith.” I did a CD search on that, and found that Rinpoche uses the word in two different ways. Sometimes he talks about our faithfully accepting what we have been taught, or what the mind tells us. But sometimes he links faith to knowledge in a more positive way. Here is an example of the latter, from DTS:

Using thought and feeling, awareness and the senses, we develop genuine mind. Devoted to knowledge, we find that we are naturally full of faith.
