The emotional tone of colour

The thing I’m noticing most is the over-riding presence of an emotional tone which fills my inner awareness when I gaze at a colour. The radical difference between the effect of looking at, say, jade, in me from the effect of looking at, say, bright fuschia pink, or dusty sage green is very noticeable. The colours colour my whole mood, as though I’m being bathed within in watercolour. I’ve always been aware of this, but somehow now I’m ‘knowing’ it differently. I have the sense there’s a lot more to say about this, but not sure what it is. I also have the sense this is connected to something much bigger, but don’t know what that is!

    Hi Carolines,
I also have an affinity for this inner reply to color. I often feel something similar if I’m calm and without distractions. In response to the color of budding leaves on branches, I could site the rush of blood through capillaries, or tingling somewhere beneath the surface of skin, a flutter in mood over cherry blossoms outside the window, and emerald fields of grass beyond. It’s not just a visual notation and mental accounting, it’s a felt response to what is encountered, after which I can describe it to myself, give it meaning if I wish, and locate myself in the “Garden of Awareness” that Tina describes. :-)
    Best wishes,
    David
