Feel of the Field

I sipped a cold coke, suddenly, a space or field expanded allowing for sensations of icy cold, very sweet, and perhaps a hint of salty fizz. The taste field seemed to be linked to another field of touch/feeling; the tongue at first, but expanded to include the entire inside of the mouth, cold against teeth and gums, the back of the throat. The act of swallowing brought another field of sensual feeling as the cold spread through the chest and into the pit of the stomach.

Another, much larger field seemed to be in operation too, which was aware of both taste and feel, and also that I was sitting comfortably in a chair while a seeing field surveyed the view under the maple trees off to the emerald-green field of tall grass beyond. While the listening field was available, ready to expand with any stimulation, any sound, but there was hardly any, not even the usual ringing. The quality of the whole experience was comfortable and pleasant, wide open, fresh and new. A nourishing moment.

    Ha, ha! Thanks Brother B!

Coke – “The Pause That Refreshes”, just came to mind. :-)

Wonderful description, David — this made me thirsty. :-) Coca-Cola should hire you! And TSK allowed you to draw more nourishment from the experience than Coke itself could ever offer.

I related to your description of the larger field which seemed to accommodate (and correlate) the multiple sense fields. In my own exploration of this, I didn’t get very far in a question that arose for me: whether this larger field is ‘awareness itself’ or if it is a form of knowledge. The latter seemed more correct, at least to the degree there was any correlation and ‘connecting’ of the fields.
