Now . . . and then

Hello to everyone, and my thanks to you for participating in this program. I hope it has been valuable for everyone who has made it through to the end, and of course to those who did not quite manage that.

I’m sorry too that we won’t continue with units 19-36. It makes me realize how ambitious the study guide is. It really is a long-term commitment, which is as it should be for TSK. Henry David Thoreau said something that I often think about: The reader should take as long to read a book as the author took to write it. Rinpoche wrote these books over the course of 20 years, so  . . .

David made a suggestion about the second of the 3 programs starting in the fall. It wasn’t quite in line with what I had in mind, because I have been planning to work with topics from Part 2 of When It Rains. But it did help me, especially his enthusiastic endorsement of TSK Exs. 27-28. Right now I am thinking that I will make the topic for the second program “Linear Time.” That is Topic 28 in Part Two of WIR, and certainly a key topic for getting involved with the vision.

The third program as announced is on Light. I will probably stay with that, even though (and exactly because) it’s quite a challenging topic. Sometimes it’s good to take on something that encourages going beyond your understanding into not-knowing.

Again, my thanks to all of you. Feel free to email me if you have specific questions that come up as you work with the vision.
