I’ve been practicing in conversation it with people every day, and it has produced many interesting experiences and insights. I’d like to share just one of them: I was practicing the glow while talking with my wife the other night, and I noticed that one minute I could explore being ‘the glow’ – which an earlier insight has revealed meant being more ‘attuned’ to her – then the next minute I could be the ‘glow’ for my ‘resistance’ to being so attuned; then I could in the next moment be the ‘glow’ for my physical environs. The next thing was surprising: I got a surprise in realising that my ‘self’ (the glow) was not a fixed reference point, but that it was a continual flow of changes (in my body, feelings, perceptions, consciousness and so on) INTERACTIVE with the environment.
Since then my exploration has been influenced by the question: what is ‘authentic’ in the self, then? And sn amazing spaciousness opens up when I realised that authenticity doesn’t come from the self, but as a quality of a deeper level of my being.
Gassho to all for the opportunities provided by this inquiry.
