Giant body Exercises

Hi everybody,

I have a sense, that we rush through these exercises too fast. I`m not so good in visualisation and I just start to contact  the giant Body a Little. Since we said this is the root text it might also be the root exercises, that I would like to have more time to become familiar with. I`m interested how this works for you.

Hi Klaus. I appreciate your comment and always have the sense with these exercises that there is literally no end to the exploration of their depth and potential: that if I practiced them every day for lifetimes I still would not be able to reach the end of what they contain/offer. Where to stop? How far to go? A friend once wrote a book about meditation entitled ‘Journey into Vastness’ and I think this is something of what we enter when we enter the Giant Body. It’s just struck me that actually the Giant Body and its exploration is a ‘symbol’ for the whole of the TSK teaching. Caroline

    Hi Klaus,
I agree with Soudi (I usually do :-)
For years I put off working with the Giant Body exercises fearing I could not understand or make ‘headway’ with them. But just repetition with the visualization, not that much repetition really, things begin to become a little more clear. Even if we just cycle what we previously remember visualizing seems to help, cycling seems to set up a dynamic that we gain a little ‘space’ between ‘what’ we are visualizing and the one doing the visualizing. That seems to be an important clue to begin with. Keep at it Klaus, I believe it could prove fruitful. :-)

I, too, find the Giant Body practice quite challenging. I don’t have as much difficulty if I visualize the giant body as my own body and exploring it’s space aspect. Perhaps this is because I don’t feel distinct from the space / appearances of my own body as I might in being distinct from the giant body I’m imaging and investigating.

    Hi Klaus:

I think you are right on about the importance of this practice (Giant Body)…
We can continiue practicing it going forward… and we will get better at it …
Eventhoug other practices will be introduced, we can always cultivate this one as the back bone of the others …

    Klaus,

I would like to add a link that helped me to do the Giant Body exercise. It is interactive. It is possible to zoom out and chose organs to see with more details.
