HEARING

Hearing

Hi All

I am also catching up with the exercises and posts.  I just wanted to make some short comments related to the previous Exercise we did in LOK on Hearing. The key phrase for me was the instruction to “to include the one who is hearing.”  What emerged for me was that my sensitivity to peoples’ voices seems to have increased. What I mean is that I feel or notice the energy embedded in the voice–both in mine and others. Of course, hearing involves much more than human voices–but I seemed to have focused more on voice as an object.

This carried over into a dream a few days ago as when I awakened, I noticed that I had been dreaming about the connection between voice=energy=intention. I recall that I had been dreaming of a mental inventory of various individuals I know–some very successful and some not–those successful were also doing work that I admired. I noticed a correlation of the quality of the energy in their voice was related to their intention and the results they had achieved.

I am actually reading a book on Voice right now, that comes with a CD to work on voice range and quality. I don’t know exactly what this might have to do with where we are in this course, but it seemed relevant in a way

About ronaldp

I took the TSK 10 month program at the Nyingma Institute in 1982 and been a student of this vision ever since. TSK has definitely been a pivotal force in my life–both on a personal/spiritual level, and in my professional and intellectual endeavors. I am also a “Dharma student,” and see a rich interplay between TSK and Buddhist teachings/practice. I’ve done Kum Nye too. Lately, I have been learning and practicing various forms of Qigong and now Chen style Tai Chi. I am a professor at San Francisco State University in the Department of Management/College of Business. I teach MBA students mostly, a course in the Management of Change. I am really not a mainstream business professor. I have contributed chapters to the Dimensions series in TSK, which are edited books by people in various fields that have worked with TSK in different ways. I am excited about this online program and Jack’s new book that accompanies it, “When It Rains Does Space Get Wet?” I look forward to sharing with everyone. Ron Purser
