Welcome to course 3

Dear Participants,

My apologies for not getting started earlier. I had it firmly fixed in my mind that the course did not start until April 24. But today I received a kind nudge from Kathleen. So here I am. I will post an orientation later this morning.

In answer to Peter’s question, the reading for this week is indeed TSK pp. 271-286. The Exercise is TSK Ex. 4. Please also look at TSK Ex. 4, but I don’t actually recommend trying to do it in the way it is presented in the book. Instead, here is an adaptation inspired by it:

At various times during the day, or in a more formal sitting session if you like, focus lightly on an object and let yourself see it in terms of “just interactions and shining outlines.” This may change the way you see the object; for instance, the way it relates to its background and surroundings. Do this for just a minute or so, but do it several times during the day.

Again, my apologies. I actually expect to be able to contribute more frequently in this class.

The orientation will follow in a few hours.

Jack
