Last of the Sessions

I’ve finished my six session with each of three meditation practitioners. It was a very rewarding experience and the three of them want to continue together next year to explore TSK with me.

Today, the last session was very moving. I explored with the client the mind’s basic subject-object-making activity, that underlay his dramas. We used several exercises from the TSK works (combined with some of the Vipassana language that he is used to, from working with me). The degree of cessation of ‘me’ and ‘me-making’ that he experienced was very, very touching. Beautiful.
He discovered how much ‘story’ he constructed, and saw himself doing that to stay away from ‘not being.’ Deeper and deeper went his inquiry. This is a person, in whom, for the several years that I’ve worked with him, I have never seen such a degree of peace and genuine presence, and with a particular beautiful quality of independence! He had tears of gratitude as he went even deeper than the level of experiencing the bliss of consciousness-in-itself, but experiencing the utter simplicity and peace that comes with no occupancy. I bow that that.

I too am grateful for the opportunity to accompany them in this experiment. Thanks, Jack, for the suggestion of this separate thread of inquiry.
Christopher.
