DIVING INTO TIME

Related to THE PRIOR post to this one entitled, ‘DIVING INTO TIME…’, [click on the link] a student was having difficulty opening time… So as an aid to deeper understanding, I consolidated Rinpoche’s individual TSK book diagrams into one. The question… How does NOW imply all times? How do I open the future of the past? How do I open a memory?

“…what we call a point or moment of time may not be the simplest, irreducible unit of time. IN BETWEEN THE POINT A AND POINT B THAT WE RECOGNIZE, THERE MAY BE MORE POINTS. The ‘future’ of A and the ‘past’ of B, for example, might be such points, ‘existing’ or available in different ways. But it is also possible that there are more ‘present’ moments between any two moments we specify. Our experience suggests this view, since we know that we do miss moments, for instance, when we are not concentrating well.”
….’Sacred Dimensions of Time and Space,’ Tarthang Tulku, p. 111 & 116

Suppose a memory flash spanned from A to B as shown in the diagram… and consisted of a string of X’s, and there was a gap or not-known or un-recalled part of the memory, represented between X1 and X2… focusing on that gap or un-recalled part of the memory can bring forth the Y series of the remembrance. Looking deeper into gaps in those flashes can bring up the Z parts of the remembrance… GOING DEEPER INTO EXPERIENCE WIDENS THE FOCAL SETTING… It also demonstrates the elasticity of Time…
