In “Stranger than Fiction” there is a sentence: the hero is dying – but the story is living for ever? As if the “stories” have no relevance, as if they where interchangeable. But they aren´t, I think and feel so in this moment, they have a deep effect.
In this moment I remember suddenly an evening at home, long ago. Daughter was 5 years old, playing on the floor. I listened to a G.Mahler – Symphony and in the last movement a repeating (women)voice:……..und ewig ist der Tod! (…and eternal is the death) Very sad, deep touched. And my daughter repeated, same mood, similar being immersed: …..und ewig ist der Tod! She forgot it. But it has till today a deep effect on me. “Stories” seem to have a huge spectrum in us, sometimes empty like straw, sometimes full of (felt) live.
I´m very impressed about the connection of the movie and our “story” subject.
