models that have predictive value

It seems to me that models that have a predictive value appear to me to have more “validity”. If a model of airodynamics “works” and an airplane flies, it is more difficult to equate this model to some model that does not seem to have a useful application.

I realize that science says if a model is predictive and produces reliable repeatable results it is “true”.I recognize this to be the scientific model, a story about how we define “the real”.However there does seem to be a difference among models in this regard.

What does TSK say on this matter?
