About Michael Gray

I first started studying TSK in the mid 1980's and have since attended a number of retreats and workshops at the Nyingma Institute, in both TSK and Buddhist themes. I participated in the life-changing Human Development Training Program in 1991, and upon returning to Albuquerque co-founded an organization, Friends in Time (with a friend who has Lou Gehrig's Disease), which continues to serve people with similiar disabilities. I contributed an essay to "A New Way of Being"--the last one in the book--in which I describe how learning to honor who I have been has broadened and deepened my openness to present experience. I live in New Mexico with my wife and two sons.

Since inquiry is at  the heart of the TSK vision, as outlined in the first unit of Jack’s book, it seems appropriate that his book’s title is itself a question. Of course the warning not to settle for answers  is … Continue reading

“”Inward knowledge of time is also the ‘inward knowing outward’ of eknosis.” (Dynamics of Time and Space”, page 159)  But which is it? To look inward at time, don’t we have to be outside looking in?  If we’re inside looking … Continue reading

Not my summer reading TSK

Sometimes I’m struck with how unable I would ever have been to appreciate recent readings in “Dynamics of Time and Space” without the support of Jack and the on-line TSK class.  Imagining myself reclining at the beach and dozing off … Continue reading

Surviving the school years

This week’s reading brings to mind the difficulties I experienced and that a lot of kids who “learn differently” have with the rote-leaning emphasized in school and called for in the process of learning how to fit in.  Perhaps creativity … Continue reading

Not, Not. Who’s There?

On Page 149 o f Dynamics of Time and Space” there appears one of those mind-bending TSK expressions : “Operating before each measured-out move, prior to directionality,   it is the not-not-not.” Is it possible to understand, is it possible … Continue reading

What Draws us?

Q: What Draws me to TSK? A: Initially and to this day it is the vision’s ability to penetrate the life I am living  (time), recognize my familiar body and world (space), and acknowledge my animating desire to survive, understand … Continue reading

Be the Story

In the film “Groundhog Day”, that modern-day masterpiece about the force of Karma, Reincarnation, and TSK in daily life, Weatherman Phil is stuck reliving the same day over and over and over.  His “story” becomes his daily attempt to attract … Continue reading

Conducting the pitch

This morning, planning my day as I have done since spending time with “Skillful Means” and “Mastering Successful Work” years ago, it occurred to me that I rarely get through my List for the day.  Energy runs out.  Or as … Continue reading
