A new way of knowing

I had been going through a personally trying time.

In observing the “I” in action, it was noted that much of my reaction was to whether to whether or not events were going as I desired.

In response to this insight I have been practicing non-preference. I had thought such an approach might leave me indifferent, without emotion. However, I still have a variety of emotional responses available, but they  are not to whether or not perceived events match my preference.

I am finding the responses that occur, as I relax preference, to be far more fitting, helpful and useful. Additionally, the trying time has eased.
