Reading mind to mind, when presence is absent

Peter brings up two wonderful examples (the old woman and his brother). They are wonderful because they ask how these practices and this vision change the immediate events of our lives: our reactions, our possibilities.

I am on the theme of embodiment in this series of posts, so I react in that way to Peter’s question. You could also speak of ‘presence’. If you can be present in a deeply embodied and deeply meaningful way, mind-to-mind may already be happening. This is abstract, but still, it seems to me a name for the right approach.

That is what the second example seems to get to. We know more when we give up on the mind. In this case, it is just a kind of relaxing, isn’t it. No special exercise there, and maybe not even a connection to this online program. Yet there is something to be learned.

I think we all have examples like the one you give, and the one David gives. If you want to read a part of the TSK books that seems to me most relevant, look up “decisive point” on the CD.
