Jack,
Could you please clarify a point for me about the practice LOK 41 – Field of Feeling?
The words in LOK outlining the practice talk about ‘Feeling’ and ‘Feelings’. In your comments about the practice on p.84 of When it rains…., you talk about ‘Emotions’ and ‘Emotionality’. As I understand it, emotions and feelings are quite different things, both according to Tarthang Tulku in his introduction to Kum Nye Relaxation (p.3, p.12-13, p.18-19), and according to our own Turiya teaching. Both these teachings seem to relate ‘feeling’ at its deepest form as pure energy, and see ‘feelings’ as the individual expression of this.
When you discuss “…the structural element of emotionality†and its ‘knowledge bearing component’, are you referring to ‘feeling’? If not, can you tell me how you see ‘feeling’ and ‘emotions’ relating in this practice? Are the ’qualities’ of feeling their emotional quality, while the ‘tone’ is the positive/negative nature of these emotions?
Thanks for your assistance.
