The Object and its Glow practice invites a way of looking that draws an observer into the realm of knowing. The cactus bloom seems a symbol for anything in which an aura feels less solid than something within, like Earth and her atmosphere.  I think of this practice as an invitation to look in a way that includes the looking as a dimension of each knowing encounter.
This morning there is snow on the tree branches visible behind my house. There were two inches of know (I mean snow) on the cars out front when I picked up the morning paper. The snow won’t last long. It will melt and evaporate in the morning sunlight.
     Brief cloak of snow
Sunlight revealing and warming a habitable world
         Glow of phosphorescent blossom
The sense that I am located as I write this, as I look out the sunroom window at the illuminated, blanketed branches that have turned further toward the east, like commuters waiting for the bus, and shortly the sun will climb over the hill at the edge of the world, and pick me up for another day . . .
It’s all a symphony and I am glad to have a part to play—the part of a snowfall that comes and goes day by day, occasion by occasion, sometimes drawing back to say:
         “this is meâ€
Sometimes drawing forward to say:
         “this is this.â€
