Exploring this weeks assignment I found that Rinpoche uses the word field for different levels of space.
Even in connection with the third level he speaks of the “field of possibility”.
When I hear the term field my first association is a soccer_field. Might three levels of space to be discovered there too?
Well, usually I sit in the stadium watching what happens on the soccer field. There are certain rules in play, so players move in certain ways in order to try to shoot goals. The team who makes the most goals is the winner, the other one the loser a.s.o. – so everything is “in place” and most of that is quite predictable. Could this be the first TSK-soccer-level?
The whole setting changes when I let the “field become a little bigger or better more encopmpassing:
Now the whole stadium becomes part of the “field”- so I becomee part of it too. There is less sense of separation between watchers and players. Other experiences might come into play like the green of the grass, the sounds the blue sky above. It might be less important who wins or winning at all. There is movement everywhere, shifting lights and forms and the sense of a lot of energy.
If the “field” becomes finally all emcompassing we might speak of a third level of space but it doesn`t matter how to name it. The soccer match might disappear as such appearing now as a “field of possibility” as a dance of time and space. In this dance everyone is a “winner”. But maybe it would be possible too on this level to experience the match like before. As a master of all three levels I could chose and that sounds like real freedom, doesn`t it?
