Hi Jack and all,
It’s good to be back studying TSK vision again after a break which I needed to do some other yoga related work.
I have found a lot in the ‘Unifying Clarity’ Exercise. We have worked with Candle Observation practices for many years in my yoga group, but always with a single candle. As I begin this exercise, visualising the single candle, the intense personal relationship which I am used to between myself and the candle immediately surfaces – the candle knows me as much as I know the candle. However, as I add more and more candles, more and more sources of light, this changes, and the intensity of this relationship suffuses into a lighter (no pun intended) energy which opens to a fine and expansionary space. The candles behind create a warmth on my back and shoulders until I feel myself fully enveloped in a warm glow. As I visualise candles to either side, the light is everywhere, dazzling. I seem to be bathed in it. Finally as this space becomes more and more open, the knowingness of the light flows outward and becomes universal. There seems to be only light and space, space with a knowing quality. I wonder whether this is what is referred to in yoga terminology as ‘universal consciousness’.
