This is becoming progressively more exciting and challenging. And those recorded Skype sessions are a godsend ! (So huge thanks to all again, and very much appreciate your elucidating commentaries and analogies Jack.)
Re the condensing exploration, not sure if my following examples are cheating, as they’ve happened more by accident than design, or maybe I’m misconstruing the exercise…….(?)Â
One of my ways is when I want to find an elusive root / cause of an emotion. So I generate just that that I’m feeling, while confining it so it saturates / completely absorbs me. And it’s from this intensification that the tracks of whatever it is I’m trying to relate to becomes pronounced (bubble up), and from this am able to pinpoint and explore all of my associated ‘stuff’.
Another way is when I’m stressed. Here whether by design (exercise) or through trying to fit too much into too short a time scale (completing a high spec task with an inadequate deadline), the activity requires all my attention with the added dimension of pressure.  Here I’ve found this combination condenses space acutely (and also notice how rapidly space expands – once the body is allowed to take a breather, or when the required deadline has been met (failure is never an option, hence the stress!).
Have to say I’ve never thought to try it with objects so shall be giving it a go………….
