Using the exercise on the last call, here are my results for the item on a shelf directly over my desk: cedar flute.Â
The cedar flute communicates to me: breath of life, song, music, prayer, vibration, wood-burnt scent of its tuning holes, scent of the forest where the branch fell to the earth, rain on the bark, wind through the trees, birdsong, solitude, community, array of emotions played through it and evoked by the notes on the wind, peace, purity, creaking branches, snowflakes and sunlight, memories of bare feet on the dusty earth, impromptu notes, thin eagle bone whistle singing with it, dusks and dawns of ages; and as a temporary vessel through which each and more flows through and around.
